March Classes

I'll be starting another series of HypnoBirthing® class in March.  This series of five classes will take place on Saturdays at five pm and last two and half hours each. On taking the class you can look forward to understanding the history of birthing and how it became a medical procedure, and taking that knowledge and turning it back into the beautiful event that it is, becoming a family, meeting for the first time, embracing each other, and being filled with love.

In order to help you realize your birthing potential you will be taught visualization techniques, how to breathe calmly and effectively to maximize progress, relaxation, release of fears, nutrition, deeping, exercises, and further your education and understanding of what can be, thus helping you to be empowered about your birthing choices.

If you would like more information please read previous postings, and the HypnoBrithing® web site at HypnoBirthing.com.  If you desire a calm and gentle birth and want to embrace the beauty of your birthing experience, then feel free to contact me at k_stephensen@hotmail.com or texting to 913-306-7866.  I will get back with you as soon as possible.  I do teach, farm, and raise boys, so I am a busy mama, please be patience with me.

October Classes

As I think ahead and begin to prepare for October classes, I want to be flexible.  This is the first class I've posted that I would be teaching on Wednesday, and I've already gotten a request for Thursday evenings.  Let's just say I'm opened for either night, but obviously not for both nights.   Please leave a comment below of your preference.

HypnoBirthing classes are a series of   five   2 1/2 hour classes.  I do provide a snacks and breaks are as needed.  I would never dream of having a pregnant woman, and her partner sit and listen for 2 1/2 hours straight.  Honestly I think moms could listen and participate for that length of time, but dads?  With that mentioned, this is a class to help empower and  inform both moms and dads/birthing partners.  Dads can be our greatest comfort, ally, and protector.  As women we should be attended to by those we love.

The fee of $250 covers two people attending, for example a mom and a dad, or a mom and her partner, or a mom and her mother or best friend or doula.......who ever you have invited to attend to you may come.  The fee includes the book, which has a CD with it, an extra CD, handouts, and most importantly a certified instructor.  I am also available to meet with you one on one, if that need arises.

Thank you for considering me as your instructor!

Feel Peace and Confidence as You Prepare for Birth

A woman in harmony with her spirit is like a
river flowing. She goes where she will without pretense
and arrives at her destination, prepared to be herself
and only herself.  ~ Maya Angelou

I have an open heart.
Birth is a wonderful, safe experience.
Daily I spend time communicating with my baby.
Together we bond and learn our own language of love.
We find time and space to include others.
My mind is relaxed, my body is relaxed. I feel confident;
I educate myself about the things I have questions about.
I envision the day I get to see you, kiss you, smell you, and hold you.
I look forward to the day I get to look into your eyes.
I turn my birthing over to my baby and my body, we are all in tune.

If you are wanting to feel confidence as you prepare to birth, then please sign-up for August classes.  Please pass this on to any of your friends that you might feel will
benefit from a calm birthing approach.

Sign-up for August Classes

He hardly made a noise as he entered the world.  His mother was calm, and excited, as he crowned and she gently nudged him into the world.  I was elated, this is how birth is suppose to be, a family experience.  Not just that, but this was the second birth I attended that the family refer to it as the greatest spiritual experience of their lives.  Spiritual?  Not intense, painful, and all those other less then desirable words that we all to often hear when people talk about giving birth.

Remaining calm and viewing birth as the magical event it is can really add to the amazing out come of the experience.

I teach HypnoBirthing, a method that helps empower women and their partners to have the calmest birthing experience possible.  These methods are taught through a series of five 2 1/2 hour classes.  August is almost here and if you are pregnant and desiring a calm, gentle birth, then sign-up.  Please leave a comment, email me at k_stephensen@hotmail.com, or call or text me 913-306-7866, if you are interested in learning more or would like to take the class.

My Tribute to Dads

As birthing women we rock!  But this posting isn't about us, it's about those how support us, namely fathers.

I have a wonderful husband.  I didn't realize how good I had it until my doula and midwife asked to bring him along to other births to help the dads.  So my husband is wonderful!  During our first birth, which was twins, I felt like he put as much effort into them coming into the world as he possibly could, given that they were in my body and not his.  I remember him dancing with me and squatting with me....the list goes on.  He was our protector, he treated us with kindness, and he loved us.

The last birth I had the honor to attend with the birth of my niece, the daughter of my youngest brother.  My brother is a tough Marine.  He wasn't around for classes, but his wife was and she invited me to attend their birth, always an honor.  Watching my youngest, toughest brother melt as he held his daughter for the first time brought tears to both of our eyes.  It was amazing to watch him care for and protect his wife. He was heroic, contemplative, and kind.  Babies change men into Daddys forever.

Fathers, husbands, Daddys, Papas, play such an important role in birthing.  They are the protector, the comforter, the gentle hand, and the listening ear.  I hope all fathers that attend HypnoBrithing® classes fill the importance of their role.

What is HypnoBirthing®?

HypnoBirthing® is a technique for achieving a gentle, calm birth.  This series of five classes teaches you, along with your birthing companion, what it is to be a family, and the joy that birthing can be.  As a birthing woman you will learn to call upon your body's own natural relaxant, lessening, or even eliminate, discomfort during the birthing process.Your partner will learn how to support you and to eliminate any tension that might arise.

When a birthing woman, her baby, and her partner, are prepared for childbirth, and when one's mind and body are in harmony, nature is free to function in the same well-designed manner that it does with all animal mothers in nature.
